Library Policies
Book Checkout & Loan Periods

Students may check out library books for up to two weeks.

There are no late fines, but students must return overdue items before checking out new ones.

Books may be renewed at any time as long as another student is not waiting for the title.

If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the replacement cost must be paid.

Library Services
Weekly Library Visits
All students visit the library once a week for a lesson, read-aloud, makerspace exploration, and a little extra book joy. These scheduled visits ensure every student has consistent access to high-quality library instruction and fresh books.

Library Access & Scheduling
UPES uses a fixed library schedule to encourage collaboration and student independence.
- Open daily: 8:00 AM – 2:45 PM
- To maintain a productive atmosphere, only one class at a time may use the library for scheduled visits
- Teachers should reserve the library at least one week in advance for research lessons or class projects
Collaboration With Mrs. Massey
Teachers are encouraged to collaborate and co-teach with the librarian to deepen student learning. Planning can take place during your prep time or by dropping in during open library hours.
